You Know Who You Are 6/28/07

You let me drink all your Pelegrino the day my Dad died

You invited me over even though you don't know me that well

You drove me to the hospital

You listened to me cry on the phone

You are sending me love

You are sending me energy

You are praying for me

You burned sage for me

I met you only once. I was 10. You called me anyway.

You protected me from onlookers

You gave my Dad a shave the day before he died

You witnessed my Pagan blessing over my Dad's body

You hugged me

You dropped everything and drove me to the airport

You redeemed me

You choked up when I told you that a fixture in your business passed away

You chatted with me as I sat on the grass in your backyard and the moon rose behind your head

You took my late night phone call and totally "got it"

You offered to fly to LA and be with me

You encouraged me to cry, eat and rest

You bought me decaf

You let my grief hijack your entire schedule

You schlepped to the Valley just to see me for 20 minutes

You laughed at my dark humor

You set me solidly on spiritual footing

You caught me when I fell

You said Greek Orthodox prayers for Dad

You helped me to be my own hero

You helped me

You cried on the phone with me, surprising me

You asked me what I needed

You helped me to feel safe

You helped me

You came back to say goodbye
